Benefit me hopefully benefit you!!!

OKrrr my first product review post – everybody cheer and clap and scream at once annnndd go!!

Like I mentioned In an earlier post I have bought a few Benefit products over the past couple of weeks.. here’s a selected few I thought would be of interest to well.. YOU
Girl meets Pearl – liquid pearl for face
Proowwll  - iridescent mascara topcoat & shimmering lip gloss
Silky finish lipstick in nice knickers
Lip plump
Coralista

Swatches, from the back, PRRWOOLLL iridescent mascara shimmering lip gloss, lip plump & girl meets  pearl.

Swatches of nice knickers and coralista – sorry bout that!!! coralista didn’t show up on the camera very well even after 7 billion tries

Heres my review

Girl meets pearl I think is a very good product, light nudish pink with gold shimmer - illuminator/make you glower.  I like the consistency of the product not to thick and not too thin.  It mixes well with moisturiser and liquid foundation; as well as being able to blend into foundation that’s already been set on your face.  It has a pleasant smell and isn’t irritating.  The products pigment is very good it’s certainly noticeable but not overbearing.  Perfect for date night for that “my skin is always this gorgeous and glowing Christiano Ronaldo! Marry me instead of gallivanting around with KimK or ParisH” look.   I have a thing for Christiano after this check out his Armani jeans add on youtube.. you can thank me latter.

Prrowwll is a good product. Mmmm the mascara is turqoisey greeny purpley silvery with glitter colour that works quite nicely over the top of black mascara.  It’s a very subtle enhancement product, I think that if there was twice as much "colour" and not as much glitter the mascara would be better - more noticeable.  The Gloss is light bluish based pink with yup bluish purple shimmer – I think the idea behind the blusih purple shimmer is to make your teeth look whiter? Its still a decent gloss but not life changing.. Overall I think prowwlll is a nice product to have to slightly amp up your makeup.  I rated this product good over OK because I think the idea behind the product was innovative.

Silky finish lipstick in nice knickers is a good product.  The colour is a pretty, true berry pink shade.  Not much to say about this lipstick really I like the colour because it suits my skin very nicely, I like the finish it’s a good balance of creamy and glossy without losing the strong pigment.  The only unfortunate thing about this lipstick is that it doesn’t have very good staying power.. I haven’t tried it over the top of a lip primer but I hope that with a lip primer the lasting power of the lipstick would improve.

Lip plump is a poor product.  The name of this product is VERY misleading; this is not a lip plump but a lip primer and not a fantastic one at that. Anywho, according to the description it’s supposed to fill in lines and build up the contour of your lips hmmm NO it’s like putting concealer on your lips which yes would fill in any fine lines but not build the contour of your lips! I mean think about what that actually means.. build contour?? No sorry.  When you add a lipstick over the top of this product the lipstick and the lip primer kinda melt into each other muting the shade of the lip stick. Perhaps im not using it properly? I put it on let it dry then add my lipstick.. still it’s no winner..

Coralista is a very good product.  I love the shade of this coral blush it’s a pretty warm based pink coral.  It can be worn sheer or you can build it up for more of an outstanding cheek.  Ladies worn with a bronzer or a highlighter coralista would have you contending for the next victoria’s secret angel, suitable for bronzed sun goddesses or pretty pale princesses!

The.end. hope you enjoyed my review comments, outbursts, jokes, weird noises all welcome

cupcakes, Travail and Snowfairy

My working week starts very early on a Tuesday morning, I live about an hours’ drive from the office.    In the morning I have to organise myself, my babies and my husband, in one sentence it doesn’t sound like much but TRUST me it’s a whirling tornado of trouble it’s hard enough getting just myself going in the morning.  There’s nappys, breakfast, ties, keys, wipes, clothes, makeup, wallets, suitcases, laptops and backpacks flying everywhere.    I am usually exhausted before I even park my behind on my office chair pheewphh..   As crazy as things are, I love my life.

These are the un-kept roses out the front of ma masion, these gorgeous roses were planted by the original owner/builder and at the moment they are blooming at an incredible rate.   What a perfect floral greeting when I open my front door!

I won’t bore you with the details of what I did at work this week but at our team meeting on Tuesday we had a cupcake fundraising event - raising funds for children and young adults with Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS)

Commencer!

Before I start reviewing products, here’s quick analysis of my skin, which will help you understand some of the reasons behind my cosmetic & makeup purchases.

I think I have good skin with very few breakouts and no fine lines or wrinkles, wrinkles will inevitably come in time.  If I have to choose I would say I have combination skin as the only oil I get is usually in my T-zone and if I experience dryness it’s usually on my cheeks. The only gripe I have about my skin is that I have some stubborn blackheads and enlarged pores – which hopefully I will overcome with a few more microdermabrasion sessions, my skin tone is warmish but quite fair, according to the MAC foundation chart I’m NW20 (warm).   Being so fair I always thought I was cool toned, until one day a trustee MAC makeup assistant informed me that I have warm undertones SURPRISE! I will elaborate on my skincare routine in another post but in terms of makeup shades I tend to steer clear of anything that’s too bronzy or more suited for olive, tanned skin tones. Sensible I think.  I like most makeup shades of pink, coral and peach. I really like bright or “pop” colours like a bright fuchsia lip or a fire engine red pout.  As I have green eyes I tend to stick to colours that compliment green like purples, lilacs, golds and greens.  I use black mascara, I don’t believe in brown as a shade for mascara I think brown mascara makes lashes look dirty except on the VERY fair people where black is too much of a contrast and black brown mascara is less confronting.  I strongly agree with blue, green, purple, mahogany mascara as an over the top accent. I am waging a war on against  excessive black eyeliner worn during the day; I think too much black eyeliner ruins a pretty face. 85% of the time I prefer a natural polished look and the other 15% of the time I break free and sport a bright lip, smokey eyes or vibrant eyeshadow.

Oh, and remember I said I promise to be consistent with my language when reviewing products.  Well I have concocted my own product review guide and when I’m reviewing products I will rate them according to my guide.  If I review a “good” product and I really like it this guide will ensure, that if I get over excited, I wont use words like FANTASTIC, AMAZING, WONDERFUL when really the product is just good.  My reviews will start with a statement like “I think this product is good” and at the bottom of the post I will put a link back to the table.  Lastly, the table is a guide and doesn’t mean that I have experienced everything described as being Very Good, Good, O.K, Poor or Bad.

DameGi product review guide

Fantabulous

LIFE CHANGING MIRACLE PRODUCT!!!!
Very Good

The product performed very well and lived up to the claims of the manufacturer.  The product had a pleasant feel to the skin.  The product had an appealing smell.  The product had great pigmentation and the product was long lasting.  Lovely packaging.  Well priced.  This product would become an essential item in my beauty routine.
Good

The product performed well.  The product caused no discomfort.  The product had a pleasant smell.  The product had good pigmentation but could possibly be stronger. The product lasted well.  Maybe slightly over priced.  Nice packaging.  I would repurchase this product.
O.K

The product performed to a satisfactory level not quite as good as the manufacturer claims.  The product caused no discomfort.  The products smell was neither pleasant nor offensive.  The product had “all right” pigmentation but it could definitely be stronger.  Over priced.  Not attractive packaging.   The products lasting power was satisfactory.  Probably wouldn’t repurchase the product.
Poor

The product performed poorly and didn’t live up to the claims of the manufacturer. The product caused slight discomfort to the skin. The product had a slightly unpleasant smell.  Over priced.  The product had faint pigmentation.  The product doesn’t really last. Ugly packaging.  Not a product good enough to repurchase.
Bad

Bad. The product doesn’t perform according to the claims of the manufacturer.   The product caused discomfort to the skin.  Caused damage to the skin. Terrible smell.  Awful pigmentation.   No lasting power.  The products packaging was ugly and impractical. Way overpriced. Just an all-round terrible product which I would NEVER repurchase.

2 posts in 1 day - is that normal?

anywho -

firstly, look at my pretty painted toes!!!! I had a pedicure the other day and chose the most gorgeous OPI colour - blue tone pink with a subtle silver shimmer, doesn't really show up too nicely on the camera but trust me this pink is really lovely

I have an ugly wide foot - well ugly wide feet, I wont inflict the other foot on you - any way we are admiring the nail polish not gawking at my feet

Another funny thing to look at - my husband DYI fixed the bulbs behind the speedomotor in our Camry today... he pulled the whole front thingy out and fiddled with the wires and replaced the bulbs - what a clever man, clever smart and handsome!

Lastly, I bought a few Benefit products over the past couple of weeks - some quite good products that I  plan to share my thoughts on. hmmmmm here I am writing like I have 5 million followers - all in good time my pretty all in good time - wicked witch of the east voice
